ATTENTION COMMUNITIES!

HOLLYWOOD IS COMING TO TOWN! HOW CAN YOU BE READY TO ROLL OUT THE RED CARPET?

Here are some quick do's and don'ts to help you get ready for the Film Industry:
    DO
  • Have a Point Person in your community assigned to act as a liaison to the Industry.
  • Dedicate a page to your community’s website that has all information necessary for potential Production Companies.
  • Prepare the right forms and permitting applications necessary for filming.
  • Have local police, fire, and community officials work closely and cooperatively to ensure ease and efficiency when a production company is in town.
  • Gather quality photographs of various locations that your community has to offer, and have them readily available (soon, you’ll be able to post them on this site).
  • Have your appropriate businesses get listed in the State Production Guide (as well as the County Production Guide – real soon!)
  • Provide a local workforce and appropriate training.
  • Work closely with your surrounding communities to promote your region in an appropriate manner.
  • Provide special discounts and promotions for various local businesses and restaurants for film crews
  • Use The Wayne County Film Initiative as a resource for all your questions and needs.
  • DON'T:
  • Do NOT create a "Film Office" in your community – it gets confusing. A contact person is enough. Don't forget, The Wayne County Film Initiative is here for you. Use it!
  • Do NOT visit the set or be intrusive to filming.
  • Do NOT become “starstruck” – remember these people are here to work.
  • Do NOT make things difficult; we understand this is new for everyone, do your best to be as accommodating as possible
  • Do NOT hesitate to call The WC Film Initiative with any questions or inquiries.
